When a consumer views one, it triggers all sorts of thoughts and emotions. Unfortunately for brands, those aren't always positive. Swedish graphic designer Viktor Hertz put together a series of parody "honest logos" last year that attempted to show what people really think about these big brands, and it was pretty funny.
At any given moment, you can gauge which brand the "cool" New Yorkers are wearing based on the tote bags they carry. This year, I've seen a plethora of grayscale, tie-dye totes emblazoned with the name "alo" in lowercase letters. They come from the popular athleisure brand Alo Yoga, which has been spotted on celebrities including Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner. While the company launched in 2007, it's made major strides in recent years.
The real estate crisis doesn't discriminate. Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan Chase, recently had to drop another million off the listed price for his Chicago home. The 15,000-sq-ft mansion in the Gold Coast area is currently selling for $9.5 million. The Dimons purchased the home in 2000 when Jamie was named the CEO of Bank One, based in Chicago. Jimmy Buffett died Friday surrounded by his family, friends, and dogs, his website announced. The "Margaritaville" singer, who co-owned the synonymous chain, reached billionaire status in 2023.  Buffett, 76, was adored by his fans, known as Parrotheads, for singing the glory of a laidback lifestyle. American Apparel, long notorious for its 'questionable' ad campaigns, has now foregone models entirely in its quest to become the most pornographic advertisers of all time. (Yes, even compared to actual pornographers). Their just-revealed ads show naked, young girls removing their underwear -- but drawn in pencil, by "artist" Boris Lopez.  Apparently that is supposed to make it more acceptable. Redeem now Lego building is a hugely popular genre on YouTube with hundreds of millions of views. Uploads can range from complex constructions to timelapses of simple builds. One YouTuber told Insider he thinks it's childhood nostalgia that keeps viewers coming back. On March 16, a California-based YouTuber who goes by SacredBricks online posted his favorite video to date, which he dubbed a "Lego WAR." The upload, which was just shy of 15 minutes long, showed the anonymous creator building two armies from Lego pieces which he clashed against one another in a stop-motion, animated battle, complete with play-by-play commentary in a voiceover.
